How Much Does It Cost to Build an MVP in 2026?
Most MVPs cost somewhere between a few thousand and tens of thousands of dollars, and scope decides where you land. At SevenDayShip we publish our prices: a Launch Sprint starts from $5k and goes live in 7 days, and a fuller Build starts from $15k. Both are fixed quotes.
What decides the cost of an MVP
A login screen, one core feature and a payment form is a small job. Add an admin panel, three user types and a couple of integrations and you've got a different project.
You're paying for hours of building and testing, so every MVP price comes down to how many of those hours your first version needs. If you want to spend less, cut scope before you go looking for a cheaper hourly rate.
What drives the price
A product for one kind of user is simpler to build than one where buyers, sellers and admins all see different screens.
Payments add time in layers. Taking money with Stripe is standard work, but subscriptions, refunds and invoices each add to it.
Each outside service you connect, such as email, a CRM, a calendar or an AI API, has to be wired up and then tested for what happens when it fails.
Admin tools count too. Someone has to manage users and content, and those are real screens that have to be designed and built.
Bringing a design helps. If you come with a Figma file or a Lovable prototype, there's less to figure out, and in some situations that can lower the price.
Fixed quote vs hourly
Hourly billing puts the risk on you. If the work runs long, you pay more, and you usually find out late.
I quote fixed. After one scoping session you get two fixed-price options and pick one. If you want to add something halfway through, I quote it before we build it, so nothing shows up on an invoice that you didn't agree to.
What SevenDayShip charges
Every price below is on the pricing page.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Launch Sprint | from $5k | First version live in 7 days, fixed quote, you own the code |
| Build | from $15k | Full product, a new release every Friday |
| Product Partner | $4k/mo, rolling monthly | Ongoing work, a release every Friday |
Auth, Stripe payments and a mobile-responsive build are included, and you work directly with me and the same small team. There's no account manager in between.
Clarity.poker, a product I build and run
I build and run my own products too. Clarity.poker is an AI poker tracker for Mac with hand history, leak analysis and session tracking. When I get the scope wrong on my own products, I pay for the mistake myself, and that keeps my estimates for clients realistic.
How to keep your MVP cost down
Decide what your product has to do on day one and move everything else to a list for later. Bring whatever you already have, even a rough doc or a Loom. Before you start with any studio, ask for a fixed number in writing.
