This is a draft post for layout evaluation only.

This is a placeholder post with longer content to demonstrate table of contents and multiple sections.

Before You Build

Starting a project is exciting. But a few hours of preparation saves weeks of rework.

Define Success

What does "done" look like? Write it down. If you can't describe success in one sentence, your scope is too big.

Know Your User

Who are you building for? "Everyone" isn't an answer. Pick one person—real or imagined—and build for them.

During Development

This is where most time goes. Make it count.

Keep a Running Demo

Always have something you can show. "It'll work when it's done" is a red flag. Demos catch problems early.

Cut Scope Ruthlessly

When something takes longer than expected (it will), cut features—don't extend timelines. Ship what matters most.

Test on Real Devices

Your laptop isn't your user's phone. Test on actual target devices, with real network conditions.

Pre-Launch Checklist

Before you flip the switch:

  1. Error handling: What happens when things break?
  2. Loading states: No blank screens
  3. Mobile testing: Actually use it on a phone
  4. Analytics: Can you measure what matters?
  5. Backup plan: What if traffic spikes?

Post-Launch

Launching isn't the end. It's the beginning of learning.

Watch Real Usage

Analytics tell you what. User sessions tell you why. Both matter.

Prioritize Feedback

Not all feedback is equal. Weight it by:

  • Who's giving it (target user vs. edge case?)
  • How often you hear it (one person vs. pattern?)
  • Impact on core experience (nice-to-have vs. blocker?)

Code Example

A simple pattern for tracking feature flags:

const features = {
  newCheckout: process.env.ENABLE_NEW_CHECKOUT === 'true',
  betaDashboard: user.isBetaTester,
};

function isEnabled(feature) {
  return features[feature] ?? false;
}

Summary

This longer example demonstrates:

  • Table of contents generation (3+ headings)
  • Multiple section levels
  • Ordered and unordered lists
  • FAQ schema integration
  • Code blocks

Note: All content is placeholder text for layout evaluation. Marked draft: true and noindex: true.
